Brazil Christ Redeemer

                                   Brazil Christ Redeemer                                        The monument was conceived by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and built in collaboration with the French sculptor Paul Landowski and with the French engineer Albert Caquot, between 1922 and 1931. It was inaugurated on October 12, 1931, Our Lady of Aparecida and Is in the neighborhood of Santa Teresa. Symbol of Brazilian Christianity, the statue has become an icon of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. In 2011, in an opinion poll on the Internet, Cristo Redentor was considered by 23.5% of 1 734 executives from all the countries of the region as the largest symbol of Latin America.
